The idea of buying and renovating the old Hotel Michelotti came up almost by chance, one evening with friends. Soon after, the idea became a plan to develop with dedication and commitment.
After 50 years of honourable service the old structure makes way for the new "GARNI' ON THE ROCK", built on the castle rock.
The property is owned and managed by the Tisi family.
New opening for Spring 2012
A taste for the essential
We aim to offer a certain level of service so we began to focus on the expectations of the people who come to stay in Arco. This lead us to establish and follow a logical line which can be briefly but significantly summarised like this: A TASTE FOR THE ESSENTIAL. Clean, modern lines in a welcoming, family atmosphere.
Arco today is a paradise for outdoor activities – climbing, biking (road and mountain), trekking, canyoning nordic walking, sailing, windsurfing and so on.
In our hotel there is room not only for relaxation and outdoor activities - in the public areas of the hotel you can also enjoy something of the local art. The corridors of the Garnì On The Rock host a permanent exhibition of great pictures by local artist Dimitri "Mitija" Alberti. Lively colours and floral games in a 1mx1m format are a pleasure to the eye and all works on display can also be purchased.
Arco lies to the north of the Altogarda plain, the last section of the Sarca valley whose river flows soon after into Lake Garda. The position protected by the mountains and the vicinity of Lake Garda allow this area to maintain a particularly mild climate which made it a well-known resort in centuries past.
Over the last twenty years there has been a profound evolution of tourism in Arco and the focus has shifted to visitors who wants to enjoy activities in close contact with nature and this has lead to the development of all the mountain related sports. The pioneer movement is free climbing which reaches an annual peak in Arco with the World class event - ROCK MASTER, held at the Free Climbing Stadium, just 200 metres from our hotel. Right here in July 2011 the World Championships of this discipline took place.
The streets of Arco town centre (via Segantini and via Vergolano) have become an international shopping centre for mountain sports and activities.
